Ethics Policy

PURPOSE:

Mintah News and associates will maintain the highest ethical standards in the conduct of accurate news reporting. This policy intends that we will conduct our news reporting with integrity and comply with all applicable laws in a manner that excludes considerations of personal advantage or gain.

Below is a summary of Our policy

On Gifts, Favors, and Payments by Us:  may be given to others at Our expense if they meet all of the following criteria:

 

GENERAL POLICY APPLICATION:

Payments, commissions, or other compensation to or for the benefit of Our employee or stakeholders or their family members or associates not required by written contract are contrary to Our policy.

They shall not seek or accept for themselves or others any gifts, favors in the form of entertainment, or any payments without a legitimate purpose and are not allowed to seek or accept personal loans other than conventional loans at market rates from lending institutions and or any persons or business organizations that seek to compete with Us. In the application of this policy:

We may accept courtesies usually associated with customary business practices. These include but are not limited to:

Lunch and/or dinner sometimes including spouses as long as the invitation is extended by the stakeholders/associates.

Gifts such as dairies, pens, calendars, etc.

Invitations to events are acceptable if offered in alignment with our ethics by the stakeholder/associates and must be approved by an appropriate officer of Mintah News.

 

 

Conflicts of Interest:

We strive to avoid any situation which involves or may involve a conflict of interest in all facets of our duties, in Our dealings with the audience, customers, suppliers, contractors, competitors, or any person doing or seeking to do business with Us, are to adhere to our policies. We shall make prompt and full disclosure in writing if there is any potential situation that may involve a conflict of interest. Such conflicts include:

  1. Ownership.
  2. Serving as a director, officer, partner, consultant, or in a managerial or technical capacity.
  3. Third-party transactions benefit.
  4. Personal relationships.

 

Confidential Information:

Relevant confidential information, data on decisions, plans, or any other information and its use are not to be disclosed in any form (soft or hard format) without prior authorization are prohibited. The misuse, unauthorized access to, or mishandling of confidential information, particularly personnel information, is strictly prohibited and will be subject to the Discipline Policy up to and including immediate discharge.

 

Compliance:

We strongly advised that any violation of this policy will be subject to Administrative disciplinary action or immediate discharge. Any violation of the policy should be promptly reported to the appropriate level of management or compliance officer, responsible for compliance in their area of responsibility.
