Gold Fields Ghana Donates US$300,000 To Support The Black Stars At The World Cup In Qatar

As the biggest football tournament in the world approaches, every company and organization is doing their part to help support the Black Stars of Ghana and help them bring home the trophy as expected.

As Gold Fields Ghana always does, they have presented a check for $300,000 to the minister of youth and sports, Mustapha Ussif, to support the Black Stars in Qatar.

Making this known, Gold Field posted pictures on their official Facebook page, telling the Ghanaian people how they are also trying to contribute their quota to help the Black Stars bring the trophy home. They said:

Our EVP, Joshua Mortoti, has presented a cheque of US$300,000 to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, to support the Black Stars at the World Cup in Qatar.
Our support to the senior national football team as well as sports in general is not new. Gold Fields sponsored the Black Stars with US$15 million from 2005 to 2012 and we believe this significant support helped the team to make it’s first appearance at the World Cup in 2006.
Also, the world-class stadium we are constructing in Tarkwa is almost complete. The Gold Fields Ghana Foundation is funding this project, which costs US$16.2 million. The stadium will seat 10,400 spectators and will help unearth football talents in our host communities.
