Fast-rising Ghanaian afrobeats songstress, Shatana has taken a very strong and bold stand on the matter of legalization of homosexuality in Ghana.
The ‘Be Real’ hitmaker in an interview with Jador Online Radio, monitored by AfricaOwn.com, she rejected a juicy offer to endorse the same sex marriage.
According to her, during the time LGBTQIA+ community in Ghana were fighting for their right after their office in Accra was shutdown following President Akufo-Addo’s orders
She received a call and was offered $50,000 to endorse homosexuality but she rejected it.
She further stated that she rejected the huge money because same sex marriage is devilish, moreover our culture and God frowns on such abomination.
“To me it’s devilish, I don’t want to take sides. In God creation, he placed anything bad at the back, so I don’t why someone would want to enjoy from the back, there is nothing there,” she said.
She also added, she has started a campaign on social media with the hashtag #Noback.
Sister of the late Terry Bonchaka, Shatana, born Ranaya Pappoe has however revealed celebrities are often given payment for supporting LGBTQ+ a move that has impressed donors.
