NPP Member of Parliament-elect for New Juaben South Resigns

Parliament Member (MP)-elect for New Juaben South Michael Okyere has resigned as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Free Zones Authority from his post (GFZA).
In January 2017, the then Head of Sales and Marketing at Phoenix Insurance Company Limited, a private limited liability insurance company in Ghana, was appointed CEO of GFZA by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
After his election as MP after beating incumbent Dr. Mark Assibey-Yeboah at the parliamentary primaries of the NPP, he officially resigned to allow him to be sworn in for the eight parliament among the 275 legislators.
Since then, he has met with the Ghana Free Zones Authority staff and management to bid farewell and to acknowledge their contribution to the fruitful tenure of the GFZA.
Okyere Baafi has been praised for transforming GFZA by putting it on an enviable pedestal that attracts more foreign direct investment.
He holds an MBA from the University of Ghana in Marketing and Business Strategy and a Bachelor of Education (Honours) degree from the University of Cape Coast, and is also a member of the Chartered Marketing Institute, UK, with more than 10 years of experience in insurance marketing.
