OLYMPICS: Ghana’s boxer Samuel Takyi fails to make it to finals but grabs bronze

Ghanaian boxer Samuel Takyi made it to the semi finals in the ongoing Olympics beating Colombian boxer, David Avila Segura in the quarter finals.
Takyi took on American boxer Duke Regan in the semis but lost on a score of 4-1 on August 3, 2021.
He won a bronze medal for Ghana since 1992 after failing to get into the finals losing to the American Duke Regan of on August 3, 2021.
A win for Takyi would have taken him to the finals in search of gold medal for Ghana but the defeat still wins him a bronze at the 2021 Olympic games since he made it to the medal zone.
His efforts means that Ghana wins an Olympic bronze medal in 29 years.
Ghanaians still celebrate the young boxer despite the defeat, for making history while Regan continues his search for a gold medal in his next bout.
