Parliament Okays Budget For 2023

Parliament has approved of the government’s 2023 budget statement without reservations Tuesday, December 6, 2022.
Even though the Minority in its debate called on the government to cut expenditures in order to deal with economic challenges, the house went forth to accept next year’s budget statement without hitches.
Hon Haruna Iddrisu who is the leader of the minority in a submission revealed some of the tax projections of the government would suffer if it does not cut spending.
He added, “It is the demand of this group that there most be major expenditure cuts otherwise some of your tax handles will suffer in our hands.
“For instance, GHS1.4billion allocation to contingency vote, we shouldn’t give him that.”
Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, however, indicated some roads have begun and the intention is to ensure that they don’t deteriorate or are not left unattended to.
