Thomas Partey explains why he switched from number 18 to number 5

Thomas Partey, a Ghanaian footballer, has explained why he changed his Arsenal shirt number.

Partey has changed his favorite number from 18 to 5.

The 28-year-old wears the same number for the Black Stars as he did for Atletico Madrid during his successful stint there.

“I like the number 5 because it’s one of the most significant numbers in the team and it’s also a lucky number for me,” he told Arsenal’s official website after the switch was confirmed.

“It’s one of the best numbers for me because it’s the one I’ve worn for the past few years.”

“Well, I believe everybody has seen it, there’s been ups and downs,” Partey told Ghana’s TV3 earlier this month when asked how he rated his first season with the Gunners.

‘We’ve had our ups and downs, but this is my first season, so I suppose I had to adjust to how they play and get to know my teammates.’

I think I’m getting acclimated to them now, and I’m confident that with hard work, everything will be OK for the upcoming season.

It isn’t simple, to be sure. The Premier League is one of the top leagues in the world, and to be a part of it, you must be able to excel in all areas. As a result, I enjoy this challenge and am prepared to take on any task.”

Partey joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid for 50 million euros in October.
