Understanding Akufo-Addo’s “AGENDA 111” Policy

The Agenda 111 project was launched by President Akufo-Addo on Tuesday, August 17, 2021.
101 District Hospitals, 6 Regional Hospitals in newly established areas, 1 Regional Hospital in the Western Region, 2 Psychiatric Hospitals in Kumasi and Tamale, and a renovated Accra Psychiatric Hospital are all part of the project.
The project’s purpose is to provide high-quality healthcare to Ghanaians across the country, and it will operate in tandem with the National Health Insurance Scheme to increase healthcare infrastructure and financial accessibility.
The hospitals that will be erected will accommodate doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals.
Ghanaians will have access to four state-of-the-art operating theatres for maternity, obstetrics, and gynecology, as well as a full complement of male, female, pediatric, and isolation wards, according to the Agenda 111 comprehensive document.
According to the government, when completed, the project will be the “largest investment in healthcare infrastructure in the country since independence.”
