UNESC Partners With FG, SG To Promote Peace

FG, Governors dominates UNESC C”ttee:
The Office of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UNESC) Special Adviser on Community Peace and Development on Monday, has constituted the Implementation and National Stakeholders Committee on Community Peace and Development (CPD), to strategize ways to reduce crimes, community violence/crisis and restore peace through programmes in the country.
The initiative by the Office is to work as Multi – sectoral Stakeholders to provide a platform for all tiers of government to improve grassroot peace network.
The Committee appointed Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to President’Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity as Committee Chairman and has the following as Advisers; Bashir Nura Alkali, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sen. Abdullahi Gobir, Chairman Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligent, Sen. Iyabo Anisulowo, Former Minister of State for Education, Northern/Southern Governors Forum and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Committee also has Prof. Muyiwa Babalola as the National Coodinator and Special Adviser on Community Peace and Development. Others are: Barr. Danladi Ismail, Prof.(Mrs) Anisoke Celine, Abdullahi Bulama, Dr. Tokunbo Akeredolu, Ibarege Awuba, Hassana Alhassan, Zainab Misa, Hon. Felix Idowu and Musa Salisu.
